VERY IMPORTANT POST
I don't know whether this is a universal problem but I'm in the UK and if I put my user name and fatsecret in the search box I don't get anything up at all concerning me or my journals.

south beach on line?
Hi Helen I'm 66 and also diabetic. I have been on SB for almost a year. I've just had my annual check up and my blood results were super. I've lost almost 100 pounds so far and aim to lose another 60-80. South Beach works if you stick to it. I follow the book and get help, encouragement and tips from FS. I'm in the UK so I have a slight problem with food and stuff I can buy here, especially since I'm out in the sticks in Scotland. I find logging my food in the diary very useful for keeping myself in line, If I can do it, anyone can. I'm lighter now than when I was in my 20's. Welcome and good luck

THE SB DIET - Not a Low Carb or No Carb Diet
Thanks from me too. I've been quite confused with all the talk of lowering carbs. I've always following the latest SB book, but I've become aware of carbs, calories, fat etc. from when I use the food diary and from the journals. I thought I was getting it wrong or a least a bit out of line. I was worried when I read of FSers with much higher calorie intakes than mind and low carbs. This has clarified things in my mind. Thanks again

Important BPA Study
This was reported on the UK news too. Its quite scary as you don't know exactly what to avoid. As someone with diabetes and atrial fibrilation should I be going plastic free?

New York Chain Restaurants Posting Calories on Menus
I think this is fantastic. I wish they would bring something like this in here in the UK. You really haven't got any idea how many calories and how much fat are in some of the things you get served in restaurants and lets face it everyone loves to eat out. Some things that look really innocent have huge calorie and fat counts.

Eat more fat. The fat will suppress your appetite and make it so that you can eat less. If you have enough fat in your diet, you will never feel hungry.

So frustrated!
8 pounds in a month is pretty great. That is 2 pounds per week. That is the far-end of the range of what you can leave and keep it off.
