Here's mine. It's basically my journey and thoughts to a healthier lifestyle, starting with p90x. I learned so many things in just a month - for example....1200 kcals was NOT ENOUGH to sustain myself! http://elenasobolic.blogspot.c...

Scanner help
make sure there's adequate lighting, no creases in the bar code, and no glares. give it 10-15 seconds. My droid takes a bit to focus on the bar code but when it reads it, there's a pretty loud beep. Hopefully that helps

Women and Strength Training
Thanks for the great article! I'm so close to having that "sexy" body and any little bit of information helps me in fine tweaking my diet and workout to get the results I want. Finally I have -proof- that women can work out HARD in the gym and not be "manly" or end up looking manly.

P90x Exercise Program.
Hi aplomb, I'm currently doing the p90x "lean" program and am finishing up on my 3rd week. So far, its fantastic! I have nothing negative to say about it at all. It IS hard work and you'll find yourself drenched in sweat after almost every workout. My favorite workouts are the Core Synergistics and Ab Ripper X (so far). Least fav so far is yoga...mainly because I am not flexible and it is an hour and a half long (but at the same time it teaches you patience and poise). The program basically has you do a pattern of calisthenics one day + abs, then cardio the next day, then calisthenics +abs, then cardio.... etc. I think it helps decrease the chances of burn out or boredom. If you do plan on doing it, don't be afraid to cross-train!...do something else once a week (aka, hiking, jogging, biking, etc). I do this because I have ADD when it comes to working out, so the more variations in my workout, the better. Good luck if you do end up trying out the program! I'd say to definitely go for it.

exercise
Extremely possible. One of my friends used to weigh around 200 lbs and got down to around 120 by just dieting. She absolutely H-A-T-E-S exercise. But I agree with Igelkind - the benefits from exercising are fantastic... even a 15 min walk will help with your weight loss and overall health. :) Plus there are SO MANY forms of "exercise" - there's gotta be something you enjoy doing!

How to be social on a diet
Another few great tips for not overindulging when going out to eat: 1. have a healthy snack just BEFORE you head out - whether it be an apple, some nuts, few veggies, etc. 2. Use your non-dominant hand when using utensils. This will force you to eat slower since you will more than likely have less coordination with that hand

Disturbing. And Misleading.
Fair enough! Thanks for looking that up. I guess it makes sense they want to stay neutral... I'm on a mission! :)

Disturbing. And Misleading.
Unfortunately there are so many people out there who do have that "lose weight fast" mentality and really aren't in it for the long haul. I think FatSecret is more or less catering to what the majority of people who visit this website want: quick and easy results. They don't promote healthy eating at all. I've visited a few random people's diet calendars out of curiosity, and was extremely dumbfounded at how little and infrequently they're eating. (you're killing yourself, people!) I really do wish FatSecret would promote healthy eating habits - not just weight loss.

I'd like to meet people doing p90x with dieting!
Hi everyone! I'm Elena (ellen-ah). I'm 23, female, and 145 lbs (currently) I've been pretty sporty and athletic my whole life and for the past year have gotten really lazy. I started p90x 3 days ago with a friend, but am looking for more people who can give me support (and vice versa of course). I am also dieting by staying around 1200 calories a day on the top 2 tiers of MICHI's ladder. Even if you aren't doing something similar to what I'm doing, I can always use more buddies to give support to. Thanks! you can view my status updates/blog here: http://elenasobolic.blogspot.c...

Well good luck with those challenges. There must be a good reason you feel you can't have just one of the carb, lower calorie beers. I admire your discipline and determination.
