Anyone Else Having Problems Posting Recipes On Here?
I managed to work it out and have 7 recipes in the kitchen so if you want some help (probably with entering the ingredients which can be a bit tricky) shoot me a line. What I would say is that you have to go in add remember to add ingredients and search for the one you want and then remember to fill out the steps. Once you get used to it it really humms. I love seeing the nutritional info, really cool. :)

Phase 1 - Any good snack recipes?
I usually have low fat popcorn and there's an organice one on the market that is a little sweet as well. I believe they're both allowed on phase 1 and 2.

Pre-menstral HUNGER
You're not alone and I have had these sort of cravings for years and years. My 'sweetness' or sugar cravings have often been met from cookies, more recently I've been eating licorice which I think is a little better and I am now buying a lot more dried fruits, like apricot and apple to get me through. :)

Whole Wheat or no wheat?
It can be a slippery slope but I find it unrealistic not to have some whole wheat type products in my diet over the long haul. Just try and not be excessive (easier said than done of course). I normally pick a meal type every couple of days and allow myself some breads/baked goods but only a bit. Not a hard and fast strategy but it's something. :)

Did you survive thanksgiving. I too focus on carb elimination. Sometimes I allow myself a slice of bread when I'm out for dinner and am ravenous. Not great but not the end of the world. :?

Fat-free vs. Fat full
Fat free doesn't always have tons of sugar, although some products do and you have to read the labels carefully. The best indicator is calories - as usual :)

Lost My Way
I had some organic popcorn today, mix of salty and sweet, not sure if it really is any good for you at all now I think about it. Wanted to read the nutritional information on the packet but my friend had already put it in a bowl...difficult situation.

There are some friendly folks here, some of them are even on South Beach :) We do need to pull together kinda like a team and be fair but firm as we go on this journey together. I like the parachute idea, getting off that rollercoaster is sometimes easier said than done. Ciao

Hi there, can understand your frustration...I took a look at your journal and it is clearly evident that you know South Beach so well as your entries read like perfect meal plans, you're amazing! My only advice, and I pale into insignificance compared to you with what I know on South Beach is that you're going to have 3-4-5 day periods when you think you're conquering the world but your scales tell you otherwise but you should not be dismayed as your body will ultimately revert to what you've been eating, it will. I can't see that you're doing anything wrong at all, and your exercise is great so KTF because it will happen. :)

I still can't get used to eating meats first thing in the morning. I find that my stomach needs some time to warm up. What sort of lean meats are you trying?

Hey, if you really decided that you're committed to it, my advice is to remove the temptations from the house and seek out some other small items of food that won't break that Sth Beach code but still feels like a treat. I'll have a think too. :)
