PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN EATING LOTS OF MEAT!
So how likely are you to pick up a piece of meat again and eat it? It seemed that when I was on induction for any length of time, I would always get food poisoning-type sick. I landed myself in the hospital after eating a seasoned steak (fully cooked IMHO). Now, I cannot eat much steak..especially with that seasoning on it! Im glad you got your health back! Will this change your eating patterns any?

Basic Metabolic Needs
My favorite site is caloriesperhour.com. Here is a nice link that shows your RMR, BMR, caloric needs...it has some great weight loss calculators. http://www.caloriesperhour.com... According to caloriesperhour: If you want to lose weight, you can use the Weight Loss Calculator to calculate how many more calories you need to burn each day than you eat. This figure is called a calorie deficit. calories eaten - calories burned = calorie deficit Once you determine the calorie deficit you'd like to achieve, you can use the Food Calculator to calculate how much less you need to eat, or the Activity Calculator to calculate how much more you need to exercise. Or you can achieve the deficit you desire with a combination of eating less and exercising more. If you eat 1200 cal/day but your RMR with activity factored in is 1500 cal/day, your deficit is 300..and in 10 days with these variables alone, youd burn 3000 extra calories....maybe this is what the DOCS are talking to you about? Eat less than you burn if you want to lose weight?

Fat Fast
Like I posted in another spot, sometimes the mere discussion of Fat Fast brings out the finger-waggers and copied section of Atkins where it is dangerous. I say this after recently reviewing other low carb websites where people would ask about peoples' experiences on the Fat Fast, and theyd get more replies about its dangers than the positive or negative experiences on it that others have had. This is understandable..its nice that people care about our diet choices... But like all fasts, they are temporary..and when done for a few days or so..probably wont do any harm. I also noted, that there are people like myself, who dont choose to listen to the "danger" the Fat Fast may cause...and do it anyhow. I really want to incorporate this fast into induction until Ive lost my last 15 or so pounds. But Ill probably just do the modified version of the fast next time around. Oh yeah, I also posted some cool entries about high fat diets..check em out! Dont forget the benefits of coconut oil too 8)

Very Cool One MONTH HiFAT Experiment!!!!!!
This guy stayed at 169 pounds for the whole month eating nothing but very high calories, high fat with protein. He wanted to see how much he would GAIN. Reusults???? He stayed the SAME!! http://magicbus.myfreeforum.or... Day 30 was 2998 calories and 74% fat. Sausage, cheese, ribeye steak, 2 glasses of chardonnay and 1 MGD Light. Well, there we have it. During the past 30 days I have overconsumed 48659 calories. At 2200 calories per day times 30 days, that's 66,000 calories that my body would have required. I actually consumed 114,659 calories. That's a difference of 48,659 calories. 48,659 divided by 3,500 is 13.9. So, I should have gained 13.9 pounds, or thereabouts. Tomorrow we will see the final results. For those interested, I drank about 4 gallons of heavy whipping cream.

Questions to all other low-carb dieters...
I dont know if its so much the low carb lifestyle that makes us feel better..but rather the low refined sugar lifestyle? Beans and fruit are packed with nutrients that the docs dont want us to miss out on...just speculating of course. That, and of course, eatin low fat..or good fats..is healthier than eating the bad fats. Perhaps the South Beach diet eating style is favored by many docs?

Rated X for Sugar & Hfc syrup
That reminds me of the flavored-ice stand at a Florida beach I lived near! My husband would be a frequent flyer if he lived near your shop!!!!!!! Do you do flavored ice slushies in the summer? That would be cool!

Atkins Advantage Bars
I got an email back from the Atkins CO today. Apparently, Im very sensitive to glycerine. It is the second ingredient listed on the box...an ingredient I didnt find on my Endulge Bars. Glycerine makes up a good portion of the negligible carbsin Advantage Bars..Ill take my sugar alcohol treats any day!

Atkins Advantage Bars
I had a Carmel Fudge Bar (2 net grams) my hubby brought home. It has 0 sugar alcohols supposedly... But I cant figure out how it has 2 gms net carbs. Anyhow, I ate one (instead of my other Atkins bar with sugar alcohols) and within 15 minutes I was wretching and other in the bathroom. My stomach just got into knots in a heartbeat. It lasted 5 minutes thankfully, but I was pale as a ghost after that near-death experience. WTHeck is in those bars? Im still crampy! I have never had that experience with the sugar-alcohol-laiden bars from Atkins..

New here..anyone have any advice??
Find your treats! They make induction much more bearable. For instance, 2-3 times/day Id have flavored coffee with heavy cream, a pkt splenda, and cinnamon..and at night, Id top it off with Landolakes whipped heavy cream. Great! Losing quickly is great, but being able to stick with it is greater..so even if cream or splenda or cheese might slow your losses (and they dont always), if it keeps you on the program and from cheating, thats better! Also, check out Sugarfreesheila.com I recommend her site to everyone :) This site is definitely a great motivation!

food calander
Put the food in a Recipe (far right). then once that is done, you can add it to your plan. Otherwise, you can put the components in, but better to do recipes.

Veggies, veggies and more veggies. The more I eat the more I lose! I've been making lots of soup with lots of veggies and ground turkey or cubed cooked chicken.
