Adding foods
After you type the name of the food in your food diary section and it doesn't come up (make sure you click enter), there is an add new food button under it on the left hand side. Click that and enter from there.

Being Sick
I've been getting raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries which are all lower carb fruits. I just stick to a handful of any of them and it been keeping my fruit wants in control. Good luck!

Protein shake with gelatin (collagen, not Collagen Hydrolysate not enough protein). About 20 grams of protein together.

Reports Page is Blank!!
Try logging into the Canadian site and entering it there. Sometimes if you do that it comes back here also. I couldn't enter somethings here until I logged in there, entered it, and then logged in here. Weird but it sometimes helps.

I love my vivofit 2! It has encouraged me to walk more. It made me aware of how little I was actually doing and made me want to increase it. I average over 11k a day now. When I first started it was about 4k to 5k except for working days.

Ice Cream Recommendations
So Delicious Sugar Free Coconut Milk Frozen Dessert. If you are doing net carbs it has about 8 per serving. Not great but works as a sometimes treat. I really like the mint chip. Breyers CarbSmart has 4 net carbs per serving and my local stores sell it at the same price as the rest of the breyers ice creams.

How do you log your steps per day? Over goal or all for exercise?
I have a vivofit 2 and my goal is 10,000 steps per day. Do I log it all or only what I go over my goal? Tonight I went for a 1.9 mile walk with my son and dog and it put me over total steps for the day but do I log the overage or do I put the total amount or just the walks I/we do? Before I got the vivofit 2 I was not very active so it has made me very aware I needed to move more so I did. I log my kayaking separate when I go (I take off whatever steps it adds to the total since I don't take the vivofit 2 off, it's water resistant and I can wear it swimming/kayaking or any water sport) Thanks for any advice!

Wheelchair restricted
I googled wheelchair exercises and found a few. Arm Cycling - bicycle with your arms instead of your legs. Chair Aerobics - move and stretch your body to music. Rowing - pretend to row a boat in your chair. Water Exercise - enroll in a class for swimming or exercise. Yoga - involves special breathing and stretching exercises. Tai Chi - a series of stretching and strength building exercise. Resistance Training Get a resistance band. Pulling the bands will exercise your muscles. Lifting weights Start with 1-2 pound weights. A can of food works. Work up slowly to 5 pounds or more. There are others listed on a few different sites also. I have a bad back but I'm not in a wheelchair so I don't know what will and won't work for you. I also saw a few different dvds on amazon including Chair Aerobics For Everyone. Your local library might have it free to borrow or you could even request them from the library loan program. If your location doesn't have it, they borrow them from another. I've done it with books. I have borrowed books from many other states, they also do it with dvds.

Addicted to Coffee with creamer every morning!
I use unsweetened vanilla almond/coconut milk and then add a splash of real half and half to get that creaminess that was missing (plus that taste was needed). It reduced the amount of half and half by a lot but I couldn't stand my coffee with just the almond/coconut milk.

sautéed onions
Did you measure the onions before or after cooking? Onions cook down so one cup of raw onions has a LOT less carbs than one cup of cooked onions.

Girl Scout Cookies
Nope, not messing with my resolve. If I bring them into the house though I won't ever get even one. I'm saving them for a later date. My next "cheat" day maybe or the one after that. I can have them and not eat them, the rest of my family can't.

I'm laughing. I have 4 boxes of those evil cookies hidden in my car. I got them before I started my diet. I don't have the strength/will to get rid of them but I won't eat them (yet).

e-Cigarettes
I've been using an e-cig for 3 years now. When I quit smoking I packed on about 60 pounds or so. I didn't smoke for 6 months when I tried an e-cig. I should also say that I was following smokers around smelling their smoke. I really didn't want to quit but the thousands of dollars I spent on dental work would have failed if I smoked. Someone handed me an e-cig to try and even though I was so close to going back to a cig I didn't. I didn't lose weight after the e-cig but I did stop gaining. I still use my e-cig but I'm on zero nicotine. I probably should stop but I still want a real cig and have never stopped wanting one. It just prevents me from smoking a real one. My doctor is happier with the e-cig than a real cig, she says it mostly healthier but not completely. My asthma has gotten better also. BTW Before the e-cig I had quit before and after a year+ without a cig I took one from someone I knew and started smoking again. The only reason I quit was for health reasons but I didn't want to. Quit smoking if you can and just know the e-cig is there if you need it or if you start to gain too much weight from quitting.

What to do about clothes?
I've bought some new to me pants/shorts from the thrift stores and flea markets near me. I got the correct size for now and one down from there. When I hit the next size down I'll do the same thing. It's about 4-10 dollars every time I lose enough weight to go down a size and I don't feel guilty when I need to get the next size down. Since I have a long, long way to go yet I figured out it's about the cost of maybe 2 new outfits from a retail store for the whole thing. I also decided to have a yard sale in a few months and hopefully I'll sell them then. When I reach my goal weight, new clothes!!

Too funny, I was making spaghetti squash for dinner tonight. I was just going to microwave it but may bake it instead. I already browned the beef (no turkey in the house) when I made my lunch and threw it in the fridge for later.

Do you have to do induction to lose?
For my coffee I use almond milk (or coconut milk, both sugar free) flavored with a little sugar free flavored creamer. All the flavor and only about a carb that way. You could try that.

Go the page where it is http://www.fatsecret.com/Diary... and you can add it from there. There's a pink box on the right side that you'll be able to add it to your food diary. I don't know why it isn't pulling up in the search. Hope that helps a little at least.

Has anyone used EasyHome 10 Parameter test strips?
EasyHome 10 Parameter Urinalysis Reagent Test Strips, I just ordered them from amazon because they seem to be a good price but have never used them before. I usually grab the ketostix but they are pricy. These will give me double the strips for a little less. But I still want to know if they are accurate or just a waste of money. I didn't bother getting them before I started the diet again since it takes a day or two for it to show ketones on the strip for me anyway.

Favorite Supermarket?
I love Publix. I was there tonight picking up my free antibiotics (paid for the ear drops script) and did some shopping for dinner. Their greenwise section is a little like whole foods but the prices don't kill me (quite as much). I don't usually buy my meats there because of the prices but otherwise that's my store. (Sweetbay for meats because of the mark down prices they always seem to have) I found that when I tried wal-mart grocery store my total was higher than Publix. I just shop the sales well.

Help! No weight loss during week 2 of Induction
The atkin's bars and drinks can stall a lot of people. Some people can handle sugar alcohols and some can't. I find that when I eat them I stall. When I stop them I lose weight. Try cutting them out and see what happens.

everyone is different but I reckon if you allow yourself a cheat day it tricks your body into NOT holding on to weight. Some might disagree but as long as its just one a week or so you should still lose? ...
