Permisson to Brag
December 20012 i was 111 Kg and was tired, out of breath and sweaty just walking up the stairs. Today Im 93Kg (moreto go) and am doing in June ans a summer series of triatlhlons. i have worked my nuts off for this ( with a few hiccups along the way though).

Confused - I just cant run.....
I can play hard tennis for hours I can play hard singles badminton for hours I can play squash for hours I've recently spent 2 hours on an elliptical at HR over 175 YET - I get on a treadmill, start running at a v. slow 6mph and within 5 mins my HR is over 180....and my body feels like giving up !! Is running really that different?

Weigh food before of after cooking?
I cooked some chicken breast earlier - It was 490 grams before cooking then 325g afterwards. When adding to my food list should I show pre-cooked or cooked weight?

Unfortunately its not available in the UK. Technically it is legal but virtue impossible to get a preecription.

I do find exercise mostly based on HR zones very very helpful. I'd love to try speedskating though

Last 31 days exact figures (as supplied by FatSecret) First off - thank you for everyone's help and comments - and of course FatSecret which to me has been amazing !! Start 21th December, End 20th January. Starting weight - 231 pounds Ending Weight - 216 pounds Weight Lost - 15 Pounds (3.3 pounds per week) Averages per day Calories eaten : 1180 Protein : 32g Fat : 50g Carbs : 173g Total Exercise : 3060 Net Calorie Deficit : 1880 Total calorie deficit over 31 days : 58280 Calorie per pound lost 3885 Yippee - more to come I hope !!!

Why would you give up bread? Bread is quite a useful part of a good diet unless you have a gluten intolerance? It's not a criticism I'm just very interested in decision making and thoughts surrounding food choices since all feedback and information from everyone on Fat Secret has helped me enormously.

A very quick snack - under 300 Calories and filling.
This won't be to everyone's taste though. 1 egg 2 egg whites 1/2 red pepper (chopped) 1/3 Onion (chopped) Add some chilly flakes Mix in plastic bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, mix, microwave for another minute. Ready to eat, on it's own or on taste or inside a wrap.

20 mins in Jacuzzi after hard exercise. Good or bad?
I've found it very relaxing and great for aching muscles but there are some scare stories out there. I do try and drink a fair bit of water when in the Jacuzzi to rehydrate but on the odd occasion I do feel light-headed when I get out.

The best exercise for you is......
Simple - its the excercise that you like, can fit in and maintain. Remember we're all here to get healthier and lose fat pound. its true that a mix of resistance and cardio is "best" but if you hate it then you will probably stop after a short while and/or get demotivated. My completely and unscientific without mrit advice is to find some type of sport or activity that you will love!

Snack Ideas
I agree with thynes. I found it easier to split meals - eat at the normal times but take part of the meal and eat it as a snack later - net result is I am eating every two 2 1/2 hours and so far have not felt hungry. It may not work for everyone though.

eating little and often
I have found it very helpful to split meals in two or three and eat every two/three hours. It has stopped me feling hungry between meals and substantially reduced the amount I eat before feeling full an example is... 7.30 banana/ satsuma 9.30 yogurt and toast 11.30 soup 2pm poached egg on toast 4.30 soup / banana 7pm apple / satsuma Nothing afterwards - I do drink lots of tea with skimmed milk during the day. Funny thing is people in the office ask if im trying to put on weight since I appear to be always eating. Well - its working for me so far.

with you having your food journal set to private, nobody can have a look to possibly see where you may be going wrong..... also, if you aren't losing on the scales try using the tape measure, sounds ...
