Anyone doing Zumba Wii?
I haven't tried the wii or DVDs, but I have taken the Zumba classes at the gym and really really liked them! It is the most fun workout I've ever done. But then, I think my positive opinion is all about the teacher, and the energy in the room. We have this sassy, Colombian teacher who dances for the fun of it - and it makes the experience awesome. It is the first time I've ever looked forward to a workout, because it is just dancing for an hour. I am curious about the dvds now - I will be eager to know how it works out. =)

The difference between Carb and Net Carb
Thank you guys. =) I appreciate it. The math part was messing with me because in my diet calendar, they don't add up. Sometimes closer than others though. =) But for example, this one is way off: Fat(g) Fiber(g) Sugar(g) Net C(g) Prot(g) KCals 70.99 24.4 11.36 15.94 19.26 810 =) I appreciate the explanations and help. Have a great day!

The difference between Carb and Net Carb
Howdy! I have been trying to understand the difference between carb and net carb on my diet calendar for a few weeks now. I was told to follow only the net carbs... and someone hinted that the net carb is the carb minus the fiber...but the math doesn't seem to jive with me. So I humbly beseech thee, the forum of the wise and with it, to help straighten this out in my head. Hope you have a great day!

Anyone Know Foods That Will Lower Carb Intake?
I am trying to figure out what I can eat on a lower carb diet too, and so far, I've found eggs, tofu, and lots of veggies. For example, I eat tofu with eggplant a bunch recently, and steamed cauliflower with cheese. And lots of yogurt. Also, with low carb, peanut butter is back on the menu, which is awesome, because I missed it. =) I wish I could offer more suggestions, but as a vegetarian only recently aware that everything I was eating was loaded with carbs, I've only been searcing for answers to this same question for about 3 weeks. Good luck and happy holidays!

Before and After, anyone?
Yay! Everyone looks so amazing. =) The pictures are beautiful examples of progress, but I am also noticing the changes in the frequent forum posters' pictures. It is inspiring to see progress happening everywhere on this site. Yay!

Are you public about your weight loss on Facebook?
=) Yay - thank you Otto. I've been embarrassed about this post since I've made it. Thank you for the positivity! =)

Are you public about your weight loss on Facebook?
Ya know, I'd never really thought about it...and I'm finding myself shy to do it now. It makes me wince to admit, but, whether true or just in my head, I always have felt that I am the biggest person I know. Sort of an apologetic obstacle; blocking doorways, worrying about chairs' structural support, trying to stay out of the way out of others, who are faster, lighter and somehow have more legitimate claim for the space around us. How embarrassing to realize I think like that! Even this week in a zumba class...I asked the instructor if it would be alright if I joined...half expecting her to say no, for lack of space! Instead, she looked at me like I was crazy and drew me right into the middle. But even then...I didn't move my arms much if at all, because the class was packed (and nobody packs in like the lovely Japanese people, among whom I live) and I didn't want to take more space than I should, considering I felt fortunate to be allowed in at all, being 2 or 3 times the size of everyone else. I'm sitting here wondering now how deep this I really feel shame that I am taking up too much space? That I haven't the right to it? When my friends talk about their weight loss, I am supportive, but in the quiet back of my mind I struggle to understand, always instead thinking, " are already fine. You are healthy and vivacious. Surely you know that...You've always been great, why are you nitpicking at 5 or 6 pounds." So, in my skewed perception, I feel like I shouldn't post on FB, because everyone in my world has a weight smaller than mine, and I would not want to bother them, inspire pity or expect them to understand, despite the deep friendships I share. Almost like I am somehow not entitled to focus on myself or call attention to myself - what a terrible discovery, that I actually feel that way! Sorry for getting all weird! <=)

I gained....WTF
My only suggestion is - don't give up. =) A friend told me that this is a war of when it goes up, just keep your head down, follow your rdi and get some exercise, and EVENTUALLY your bod will have to fall back in line. I'm giving the same advice I'm trying to follow. <=) I've been so disappointed too, when I've done everything right and there is more weight. It may be salt, or just water...but I really think the thing that has always held me back is giving up when the scale goes haywire. Hope you have a good day despite it, and that the scale dips 2 lbs tomorrow. =)

[Poll] - Why are you here on FS?
A friend recommended the site, and I took to it right away. I really liked the tools. I like being able to see the breakdown of food, and compare intake to exercise. It is fun to see the graph charting my progress, too....even stuck as it is at the moment. =)
