How long did you think it would take...
I estimated it would take about a year. I more than I expected at first which has put me ahead of schedule but it seems that my body really only wants to lose about 4 lbs a month (if that) which is what my short term goals are so it works. I have to just remind myself that slow and steady wins the race!

To warn or not to warn
The whole purpose of journaling is to note the negative things to learn from them moving forward. Weight loss is not unicorns and glitter all the time. There are ups and downs and this site offers support for the positive and negative. It's pretending that everything is fine that got us overweight in the first place.

Doughnut Prayer
lol Gnat I know! I was so happy when those doughnuts were gone. But then! My MIL brought some home last night! And they were Krispy Kreme... omg, my fav. But I didn't have any. I did, though, splurg on a Subway chocolate cookie, lol

Gnat - I think you are correct that Healthy Choice is lower in sodium but I found a HC meal that was over 600mg.

Second that about the sodium. You want to look for one that has less than 500 mg of sodium.

Does weighing daily help or hurt?
I am a daily weigher too and suffer the same issues as CeeCee. I tried to stop weighing daily because of the ups and downs (literally and emotionally) but I felt like I didn't horribly with my diet when I didn't weigh. So I'm back to weighing daily. You have to let the fluctuations go. I weigh daily but only record my weigh in on Saturday.

This is Ridiculous!
What Nimm said. It's really hard to know if you are getting the right burn in order to actually lose weight unless you track every single day. Last week, for example, your diet and exercise you burning 3984 calories more than what you ate excluding Saturday and Sunday. If you ate much more on Saturday or Sunday you may not have burned the right number of calories to lose. The week before that was even less that last. Good luck :)

Help please for paranoid husband
Just my .02, husbands aren't children: you don't "reward bad behavior" you reassure your husband that everything is still the same between the two of you even if there are some changes going on. I agree with Hoser, talk to him honestly and openly, sprinkle in some reasurrance, and keep on with your goals.

Mental Diet
To me it's about choices and balance. I choose to lose weight (most days, lol) but if one day I choose to have a cookie I need to balance that with a loss somewhere else or maybe more exercise. I'm not always the best at losing weight and there are days that I really suck at it but the point is to keep trying. What I try to keep in mind is that I need to love the food that loves me back.

That is definitely taking it to a whole other level. I have to agree with Ncnole that he won't fully understand. Most of us are not overweight as a choice. We were not properly educated. He knows he has a way out. It's different when you don't realize that life can be different. I wonder if he will find it difficult to lead the healthier lifestyle.

I think it's weight related - not a standard of so many glasses. Plus some people then add in activity level and environment variables. There's tons of calculators online.
