Ab work: Am I being impatient for not working to my full potential?
I understand that point. But I'm not sure that is answering what I am asking. I meant that in that area the fat is shrinking down on the sides more than in the middle. Is that normal to see? Instead of all around flatening. I trying to reduce the fat in that area more than see that so called 6 pack. Did I clarify myself?

The Best Stomach Exercise
I really enjoyed reading this post and all of the replies. This was great information and really good points made. I just posted a question asking about abs. And I guess this answered my question. I just need to be more patient. I am walking and eating right and doing cardio. I just wish the abdominal ares wasn't so slow to reduce. One day I WILL have that flat belly I had before children AGAIN!!! :)

Ab work: Am I being impatient for not working to my full potential?
I have been working on my abs for a month now. And I am slowly getting better at it. I noticed this morning that I can see changes in my ab area on the sides. But the middle part is still pudgey! So am I being impatient or am I not working my abs right or hard enough?:? When it comes to exercise I feel like I am flying blind and doing what I can. Any advise or help would be wonderful!!

Pilates
A month ago I was asking the same questions. And finally I just went to the library and ordered a couple of books and found some beginner dvd's and decided to try it! I have to say that I love it! I didn't start my weight loss with exercise. I lost 45lbs by eating better, and then eating right !:) And 2 months ago I finally felt ready to tackle exercising. So I can most definatly relate to where you are coming from!! Anyways, for me I found that I really enjoyed the Winsor Pilates for Beginners dvd. Check your local library and see if you can get it from there and try it out. That has been a HUGE help for me. I hate to spend money on dvd's and not use them! I have found that as a beginner in Pilates, that this is a great workout of the abs and legs. Strenghthing your back and gives me more flexiablity. In my first week I did Pilates 4 days. And at the start of the next week I noticed that my back was not hurting in the streatches and I was streaching further. By the end of my second week, I realized that the weight wasn't coming off as fast as I wanted and after reading some articles I figured out that Pilates is very effective if mixed in with Cardio. When I started doing both I have seen quicker results. I even add a little bit of weights to a couple of the moves. I would definatly give it a try. You don't need anything to do it. I did buy a yoga mat (only because it was on sale!)but you could always use a towel. I hope I have helped and not rambled on to much. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask. If I don't know the answer, I will try and find it or help you find someone who does! Good luck!!

What is the best exercise for your arms?
I just bought some small hand weights and I am wanting to target that underarm "granny giggle". Does anyone one know what is the best move to really work on that? Right now I am doing biceps curls, overhead triceps and 90 degree chest flye, Bi- row, row/kick and straight-arm chest flye. (can you tell I found something in a magazine?) I just don't know if the moves I am doing is working that particular part?

Low Cal Snacks & "Indulgences"
I have such a sweet tooth that I was having a problem being good for long. But for me I have found the Special K Bars. I like the Honey Nut but there are so many flavors and for the sweetness with chocolate I LOVE the Bliss Bars. Orange is my favorite. Maybe you could give that a try. Another treat is yogurt. I'm not a big fan of most flavors but those chocolate ones taste really good. Just watch the labels! Hope that helps!!

I need advise to get my husband started in weight loss!
I could really use everyones advise here. My husband has gone on and on about how he wants to lose weight. So now I have found my own motivation again I want to help him. I do prepare healthy meals but for the most part he won't eat much of them. He won't keep track of points so I thought maybe I could get him started with counting colories or something easy. He won't drink diet pop or even water, eat anything that is fat-free or low-fat. So I need so help here. And he is not like me where I like to write everything down. The last he told me he weighed 255. He's 34 yrs old and 6ft tall. He works as a meatcutter in the local grocery store. So he eats junk all day or nothing at all. He said he wanted to start today so I thought when he got home I could offer him an idea or too. Any idea how many colories he should be eating or any other advise out there to help me!?
