I'm new too!!! I quit the smoking years ago but weight got worse and now I'm trying to get that under control. Good luck to you....you can do it!!! How did you get the pink and green weight tickker line? I looked all around the site but I can't find how to do it.

Newbie here.
I haven't done WW in years....but isn't the good thing about it that you can pretty much eat all of the vegetables you want??? Make the 0 point WW veg soup or make a big dish of chopped salad with all the leagal veggies, dress it with balsamic vinegar and spices and munch away...I didn't do well with WW because I kept using my points for empty calories and carbs....which left me hungary....avoid starch and you probably won't feel so hungary.

GREAT!!! GOOD LUCK TO YOU - I HAVE SIMILAR GOALS!!! Why don't you take a veggie/cheese tray including laughing cow light and hummus - you won't be able to have a whole lot - but it's something you and everyone can enjoy????

The Weight Watchers Pumpkin Pie - follow the recipe on the back of the Libby solid pack pumpkin can except - omit the crust - just spray the pie plate with pam - and replace the sugar with splenda, the eggs with eggbeaters, and fat free evaporated milk - it's wonderful - that's what I'm making:)

I need to lose that much weight also. I hope I can do it. My willpower isn't what it used to be. I have a hard time keeping my personal needs in focus when the family starts spinning around me. I appreciate that you shared your own frustrations with me - and I know I need to do this.

During the week I do great! It's the weekends that hurt. But here are a few things to think about. I do better at night if I have the ricotta cream desert because it's so filling. I do better if I get my water intake up to 100 oz. (I know it's a lot - adding crystal light helps). I do better if I pre-plan in my journal what I will eat the next day - you can always change it later if you want. I noticed that one of our fellow dieters was using the sf choc. popcycles - I got some of those to help with the sweet cravings. This morning I added a sf hot choc. mix to my coffee to make it a little more interesting. Have only been on this diet for 1 week as of today -I lost 3.5 my first week - I would have done better - but I didn't SB all weekend! I'm going to try harder this week. You shouldn't be starving - maybe you're not eating enough.

Congratulations on your new little daughter. You're right in trying to get the food situation sorted out now while she's on formula or breast milk. I too am new to this diet - but I have several family members who were very successful with it - plus it's ultra healthy - plus it helps you feel better. The recipes are very delicious and my family is enjoying them too. I just add some pasta or baked sweet potatoes for my son. It's actually better for kids to eat this way too.

Water...
I experimented with the 6 week body makeover by Michael Thermon and according to him we should drink 100+ oz. of water per day. This seemed like a lot to me and when I did Weight Watchers I never would drink the water the way they said. But lately I've set that 100 oz per day as my goal and I found that I've stopped retaining water. Lots of restroom trips - but I really think it helps.

All good suggestions :) I hope I can do them! I went to the gym tonight and ran into the trainer I used last year when I was making progress. After he finished teasing me about what was I doing there - I felt better - that was a hurdle I had to face. Now I just have to get back there again tomorrow.:oops:

Thanks "losenow" ! Since I'm doing South Beach - can I have rice? I'm just starting Phase 1. I know I can't have fruit for two weeks! Unfortunately - my child NEVER went to sleep! I think this contributed to my weight problem. My husband, who had to get up for work the next day, would go to bed and I'd sit up - messing with food - waiting for my child to go to sleep. He's 13 now (the son not the husband), and that problem is over, but I've developed some very bad night eating problems over the past 13 years. Night eating is what stands between me and losing weight. I'll do great all day - and then - KABOOM!

I just started today! I definitely need support - am willing to give it too!!! I really want to stay on this long enough to get to my goal this time ( I've done this and many other diets before) . Journaling and posting messages at a site like this is the only new thing I'm trying. So HELP?????? We'll see if this works! I spent the morning trying to get foods ready like the custard for deserts and the chickpea snack so that when I'm crunched for time because I'm running my child everywhere from after school till bed time - I won't get frustrated and go off. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
