CSA Bpx Puzzle: What to do with romanesco?
I love romanesco! It's such a pretty veggie and really tasting too! I just roast it in the oven at 400 degrees with olive oil, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese for about 25 to 30 minutes. If you don't like broccoli or cauliflower you may not be the biggest fan of it, but it never hurts to try something new.

Primal and Paleo
I am a total Atkins supporter, but I am very interested in reading The Primal Blueprint as well as look into the Paleo Diet, and I would also like to read Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes. Has anyone read or researched any of the following? I think that once on maintenance or transitioning out of the Induction phase these might be good references. Thoughts?

Beer and Social Life
I'm in the same boat with the beer... We have a local brewery right down the street and it has been so hard for me to say no to all the awesome beers (Not to mention my husband fills up 2 quart bottles once a week and we have them in the house). I have started drinking Michelob Ultra (which tastes like total crap, but is still a beer)... but mostly I drink whiskey or bourbon with diet ginger ale. But only 2 or 3 because when you are dieting a little whiskey goes along way. My favorite is Bullet or Buffalo Trace.

Veggies For Breakfast
Thank you! I love the idea of a veggie smoothie! Perfect! This is the whole reason I posted this because I was having a brain freeze about what to do! Veggie smoothie = duh! Great idea!!

I'm not wanting to eat a ceaser salad for breakfast... :?

Veggies For Breakfast
Does anyone ever eat a lot of there veggies in the morning? I'm not talking about than that spinach or tomato you throw in an omelet. I'm really considering trying to eat salad for breakfast to make sure I get all my veggies in for the day, any thoughts on "breakfast salad recipes"? Just wanted some input...

Just getting started and in need of support and tips
AppleRose I think the big thing from switching to Atkins is just make sure you stick with it for those first 2 weeks! It will change your life! For me personally the WW way, carbs and low fat would just trigger cravings. Good luck and I'm always so excited to see someone switch! Staying On Induction (Phase 1)
Thanks NightAgelX for the reply! I think at this point I might stay on induction for a long while... It scares me to start adding foods (other than nuts and berries), I'm afraid my cravings for carbs will come back! Purple- I do not drink Atkins shakes or eat the treats, I do however always have a box of the Atkins Day Break Bars. I will eat them for breakfast if I am in a pinch, usually only 1/2 a bar though. I find that if I eat to many of the Atkins products my weight loss stalls or is very slow.

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred
I have been doing The Shred 3 days a week for 2 weeks. Still at level 1, but today I got through the whole thing no problem. I will most likely stay on level 1 next week too, then move on to level 2. I have never really done workout video's before, but I'm really liking it! I started it on June 4th and have lost 4 pounds in two weeks!

Staying On Induction (Phase 1)
I have been on induction (with the exception of adding peanuts) for 9 weeks and don't plan on change to the next step until I loose at least 25 more pounds. Just wondering how long others have stayed in the Induction phase before they moved on to OWL.

Transitioning from Atkins to Weight Watchers, Please help!
If you are looking for a personal experience I can say that I switched to Weight Watchers from Atkins about 4 years ago. When I made the switch I was at a comfortable weight with only about 15 more pounds to loose, for me the transition did not go well. I ended up trying to stick to it, but the diet lets you eat bread and pasta and switches you to low fat everything... It is a so different from what I was doing that I GAINED 10 pounds. Keeping my portions down and adding the carbs and fruit I was hungry all the time. I ended up gaining back everything I lost on Atkins... then just went off the diet train completely because I became so discouraged. I'm not saying it doesn't work... I know people who have done Weight Watchers and it worked great, but it does not work for me. My body does not like carbohydrates... and I feel MY best when I don't eat them. I'll be your Atkins buddy too... I need all the support I can get.

Are food databases specific by region?
This seems to be the case. I also have had bad luck searching for food items through the site. But if I do a google search the item appears. It's a real shortcoming of the site I think.

Mix feelings
Keep yourself busy so that you don't have time for a snack. If you really just want to eat something sweet or salty you can, but only in small amounts. Just think how bad you would feel afterwards ...
