Could fasting or skipping meals help me lose weight?
I agree with what everyone is saying. skipping meals is a definate no no. If you are going to skip anything, make it your late day meal or snacking time. a good breakfast will kick up your metabolism. your body needs food to run, just like a car needs gas. just make good choices, and when you are hungry, go for a bag of carrots or a snap peas. something crunchy will get you through. pack some apples for work. it takes a while to eat one andyou'll feel full from all the fiber and it's sweet, so it takes away those cravings as well.

Veggie burgers
We eat LOTS of veggie burgers and have tried nearly every type. OUr family favorite is the Boca burgers flammers" they are soy and taste like a real burger. Just fry them in a little water. great with any topping. others we've had are morning star farms grillers, the black bean style from both companies are good, I like the tomato basil also. good stuff- lots of protein and taste like the real thing. I'm not much for the "veggie" style with all the rice/vegetable chunks in them. too bad about he red robin! It's a restaurant much like Applebees/ruby tuesday style burger and grill joint. great burgers though. they have a king size gormet burger list and they have boca burgers as an option. I've never seen them at any other restaurant before. There's a lot of them in PA.

i hate eggs!!
I know there are others who don't like eggs either and unfortunatly that is the staple to breakfast on phase 1. but like veggies said, just mix it up with your other meals. if you don't like eggs then start of your day with a salad, or cheese stick and low fat sausage/bacon. how about celery with laughing cow cheese? just take a look at all the allowed foods and mix it up to find something suitable for breakfast. good luck! and remember that phase 1 is only for 2 weeks! you can do it!:d

The one mess up.....
ok, yes, this has happened to me often. but I found a solution that works for me and maybe it will work for you. first off- if I eat something I shouldn't, for instance, we got a free bag of m&m's from the fair, I resisted for a while then opened up the bag and had a handful. of course I felt guilty afterwards but then instead of just digging in the bag again, I decided to do sit ups! I must have done a few hundred crunches and some squats. I was sweating! well, that totally curbed my hunger and I definately didn't want to mess up and have to do more crunches! Sometimes when I'm have a weak moment, I just grab my water bottle and go for a walk. then after a good sweat and knowing I burned off some calories, the thought of ruining my diet is far from my mind. It is a matter of mind over matter, and remembering to STOP yourself after you've had a handful a chips. not after you ate the whole bag!

I`m desperate. What should I do?
If he really... really loved you, I mean REALLY loved you. He would NEVER need to say that. If he isn't satisfied or accepting of how you look now, then why would he be if you lost say...30 pounds? sounds like he wants to be in CONTROL and that is not the kind of relationship that is healthy. You need to move on. Then if you want to loose weight for you... then do it. but not for him. Be happy in who YOU are. We can never truly love another if we don't love ourselves first.

Workout DVD's that don't make you feel like an utter moron? Anybody?
I really like the Tae Bo tapes- kind of strange at first... lots of punching and kicks and stuff, but I have a set of 4 that goes from basic to advanced. You can do to your own comfort level. I can really see results on my body when I stick to these. I also have "the Firm." It's a workout for sure, but not terribly hard and definately not a dance major coordination style video. I got these at kmart for like $10 I think.

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
REd HOt Beach Bod's tally for the week--- Mon- 3 Tues-4 WEd-5 Thur-4 Fri-3 Olympic Sport--- hmmmmm after much consideration and hounding from my son, I decided on wrestling! (or rather, my son thought this would be a great thing for him to participate with me in!!ha) So, my 9 year old had a great time pouncing on me and trying to pin me to the floor! We ended up in more airplane rides on my legs then anything! He's barely 50 pounds so we still enjoy all the rough housing without him actually Beating me UP! I think he did win the wrestling match though... at least that's what HE would say!! LOL. As for chinese food... I don't eat very much of it because I'm vegetarian. I did find a good recipee though that involved rice, but turned out a little more mexican then chinese. IT was enchilada lasagna? IT was a mixture of rice and black beans, w/veggie burger between layers of whole wheat tortillas cheese, and enchilada sauce. very yummy! We also had some stir-fry veggatable this week, so I guess that would qualify better. thanks for this great mini-challenge! My kids and I had a great time looking up all the olympic sports and reading about what everyone else choose. Sounds like we all had a great time and learned something! LeAnn8)

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
Tally for RED HOT BEACH BODS!! Monday- 4 doing pretty well making wise food choices here on vacation-- used the fitness center and pool at hotel. Tuesday- 4 more of the same. Wednesday- 2 not that great... out for dinner- walked on the treadmill.. not much else. Thursday- 1 lousy day!! Ran out of my "healthy" food that I brought along, and was so hungry I ate lucky charms for breakfast!! Had to wait for the laundry facilities and basically used up all my workout time waiting for the drier!! ugh! I did take the steps all day up to our 4th floor room. Hoping for a better day tomorrow and a definate trip to the grocery store!;) I'm trying! But it's really hard on vacation... in a different country (canada) and at the mercy of my son's hockey school schedule!!!

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
REd Hot Beach Bod's mini-challenge recipee Yum Yum PUdding (I take this dessert with me every where I go. It's always requested and no one can believe that it's low fat! My kids like this rather then birthday cake!) 1/2 gallon low fat vanilla ice cream/frozen yogurt (You can use fat free, sugar-free also) 2 boxes sugar-free cheesecake flavored pudding (french vanilla or coconut custard are good too) 1 cup skim milk 6 whole low fat graham crackers- crushed blueberries,strawberries,pinea... fruit to top 1 tub sugar free cool whip Directions: Soften/melt ice cream in microwave. Dump out into a large mixing bowl. Add 2 boxes of pudding mix and 1 cup of milk. Beat with mixer until blended. Pour crushed crackers in to the bottom of a 9x13 cake pan. (If you want to add the extra fat, mix crumbs with 3 tbs of butter and press on bottom of pan-omit the butter and save lots of calories and fat!!) Pour ice cream mixture into pan and place in refrigerator for @2 hours or until firm. Top with sugar free cool whip and fresh fruit!! Benefits: A no guilt refreshing summer dessert! (just don't eat the whole pan!!) Milk/ice cream- lots of calcium Fruit- strawberries/blueberries- antioxidants /vitamins

RED HOT BEACH BOD'S TEAM!
Hey Everyone!! How's the BEACH today! It's hot here in Hershey PA! Hot enough to melt all the chocolate they are making!! Do you know how hard it is to stay faithful to a diet when all you smell is chocolate in the air????!!! I haven't been on lately to log my daily tally's so here they are... Monday- 4 (Exercised and ate well, but cut the workout short) Tuesday-5 (Went to Hershey park ALL DAY and walked Miles and miles and miles!!! I also resisted all that good park food! I settled for a salad instead. My butt and thighs were burning!) Wednesday-3 ate well, and cleaned house with my son, so I stayed active, but didn't get in a formal workout. On track for a 5 today! Keep up the good work everyone!! Beach Bod's Rule!!!!8)

RED HOT BEACH BOD'S TEAM!
Hey there REd Hots! We're on our way to a smokin' time at the beach!! HOpe everyone had a great first day! I'll give myself a 3 for today- did well on the food part, but gave in to a refreshing adult tea on the deck, and just couldn't manage to squeeze in any extra exercise. I did do the slip and slide with the kids and I think I sweated off a few pounds just being outside in this heatwave!! Looking forward getting to know everyone and motivating eachother to get through this challenge!

"AROUND THE WORLD" (in 42 Days)
5 ways to stay more active... 1. I used to always ask my kids " Do mommy a favor and get this..." Not any more! I do the extra trip up and down the stairs, or out to the mailbox etc... Those few extra steps make a difference and get me moving! 2. Turn off the t.v.! Last week was national t.v. turn off week. I got so much done! I wasn't being a couch potoato and neither were my kids! We played outside, read books, did games, etc... we were moving nd spending family time together! 3. When I am watching t.v.... do some stretches! My daughter likes to challenge me with sit ups! And the ids like to show off how flexible the are and challenge me with splits (yeah right) and anything else to make me look silly! But I'm moving and NOT sitting on the couch! 4. Walk the kids to school- Whenever possible save the gas and WALK! My kids love it too... more time to talk in the am and pm 5. Another one with the kids here... remember your childhood and get out there and play with the kids! I played 4-square last night with them and it wa great! We even did chinese jump rope last week! Ofcourse I'm not as nimble as I used to be, but the kids were amazed that "wow! mommy! you can jump!" I love it when I "shock" them with thos little things!! REcipee- I find that the best things are the simplest. Raw veggies w/low fat dip, shrimp cocktail or steamed shrimp, and sliced cucumbers or whole wheat chips with tuna dip/crab dip. Using lf mayo and some chopped celery. very good for you and low in calories and fat! Also, fresh fruit. The kid like to spear fruit on a skewers and set it out when company comes. easy to do and good for you!:d
