I know I am to late to join in on this weeks challenge but can I join in on next week? I have [u]exactly [/u]50 pounds that I [i]will [/i] lose.:badgrin: My name is Katie and I live in Louisiana. I am on the Atkins diet which is great because seafood doesn't hurt a thing :D

What are you favorite healthy snacks?[/quote] My LIFE SAVER is pork rinds and cream cheese. I eat that practically everyday. I eat it in between meals to hold me off till the next, I eat eat it after a meal if I have had my portion yet am still hungry. I eat it on the way to my observations if I didn't have time to eat lunch right then.. Pork rinds and cream cheese are my diet secret!!! Exercise for the week: Sunday- 60 min cardio (eliptical, treadmill, and stationary bike Monday- 20 min jogging Tuesday- 20 min jogging Wednesday- 20 min jogging Thursday- 60 min cardio Friday- 50 min cardio

First I will post my exercise for the week. Monday- 45 cardio total 20 toning with weights 20 min of walking Tuesday- 30 cardio 20 min of walking Wed- :oops: only 20 min of walking Thursday- 20 min cardio with workout tape and 20 min of walking Friday- 45 min cardio and 25 min abb workout 20 min of walking Now for the mini challenge: [i]Mindless Munching[/i] I have learned that I only mindless munch when I don't feel like cooking. So the way that I control mindless munching is by going down the road from my house and ordering a steak salad. It is my most favorite meal.. and it comes in handy when I don't feel like cooking! I also found that when you are really hungry, it is a good idea to drink a big glass of water before you begin to eat that way you don't over eat because you were hungry and end up eating yourself sick. [i]Food Labels[/i] By looking at food labels I learned about many of the "sugar free" foods. A lot of them may be sugar free however they are still loaded with carbs! I always just assumed that sugar free meant carb free.. but now (except for that green tea mishap) I look at food labels with almost everything I buy.

Team Voyagers Saturday- Went to the gyn with my sister. I did 30 in of cardio (15 on bike and 15 on treadmill)And then I did 30 min of toning on my legs. Sunday- I concentrated more on my cardio- so I did 15 on the treadmill, 15 on the bike, and 15 on the eliptical. for a total of 45 min of cardio and only 10 min of toning on my abs. Goodluck this week everyone!

[b]Team Voyagers[/b] HEY YOU GUYS!!! I AM BACK! I am soooo sorry that I wasn't able to participate as much this week. But I am here to make up for it now! [b]Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday [/b]I worked from 8am to 4pm (with a 1 hour lunch break) I was doing manual labor such as hammering nails, hauling wood, lifting wood, and much much more. I just got home about an hour ago. I understand if all of these hours wont be counted, but I DID do work that definetly toned up my arms and legs haha. So I am hoping that you will atleast give me an hour or so. Thanks imluvved and massiverally for the great advice you guys gave me on Monday, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! Looks like everyone is doing great this week so keep up the good work guys!

Okay I read that drd said we don't have to post everyday for our workouts, so I think I will post every other day this week, because I am going to be very busy with the "x-treme spring break" thing. So, yesterday did the stationary bicycle for 30 min. I kept my speed higher then 6.5 the entire time, and I did it on gear 4 :D I also lifted weights for 30 min. It wasn't very strenous because I was tired from the bike haha. But I have raised my weights to 30-40 pounds now. And I am able to do 30 situps on the lifted bench. This morning I did not go to the gym because it is closed. So instead I stretched for 10 min. And did a 45 min workout with billy banks tae bo (or is it billy blanks?) lol Okay I wanted to ask anybody who knows, because I have been hearing a bunch of different things. I want to be more strong, but I am afraid of getting manly muscles haha. I don't want muscles I just want to be toned. So does that mean I should do more reps and keep the same amount of weights, or should I do more weights and keep the same amount of reps?? Thanks

On average I lose about 2 pounds a week, during this challenge I am going to push myself harder then ever to make sure that this happens. I will do cardio everyday. And I will workout atleast 5 times a week. I have bought myself a weighted jump rope and a resistance band for the days that I wont be at the gym, that way i will never have an excuse not to work out. I plan to sacrifice Easter today, because I don't want to mess up my Ketosis. Instead we are having a crawfish boil(my favorite) so that I don't have to think about chocolate :D My ultimate going is to lose weight, be more healthy, and look amazing when my boyfriend and I get married one day. I have a feeling its coming soon, because we were looking at rings the other day :D Katie Sue Voyagers

Okay I wanted to try [b]4thehalibuts recipie Ricotta Cheese Treat Snacks![/b] [b]Review[/b] I tried the white pudding instant pudding and this was AWESOME!!! I absolutely LOVE it. And the best part about it is... it really is sweet so I can take a few bites and get my sweet fix !! :D I also choose to do the stretching again everyday. Lately I have been having problems with my back because those horribly uncomfortable desks that I set in allll day long. I brought my 33 oz bottle to school with me today. And thats all I drank so far (exluding the breakfast shake). I am about to have supper and I plan to drink water with that also. I don't really feel any different except that I am thirsty a whole lot less.

Breakfast time
Okay .. I had that SAME problem. I got sick of eating eggs! and Im am not really the morning/breakfast type of person anyways haha. But the atkins diet says you shouldn't skip any meal. So what I did was I started drinking the atkins shakes. Vanilla is the best! I drink one every single morning with my multivitamin... and I never get sick of it! They have Vanilla chocolate and Strawberry but like i said vanilla is def. the best! they usually hold me off until I get home from school around 1. Good luck!! and don't give up!

Challenge for the week: Drink more water Today instead of bringing a coke to class to drink I brought a BIG bottle of water. it was 33 ounces.. Anybody know how many your supposed to have each day. Anyways the point is.. i didn't drink any coke.. and I drank more water then i usually do! White Corvettes!

My commitment for this week is to drink more water. I am not at all a water person, in fact I would rather drink almost anything then water haha. But i found some flavored water with 0 Calories and 0 Carbs sooo I think I will have to try and drink some of that. My favorite is the kiwi-strawberry and plain strawberry. They only cost about 50 cents a bottle so it's not like it will cost anymore then the green tea or coke zero that I usually drink :-]. I was actually planning on doing this when I went shopping yesterday before I knew about the challenge so now I am glad I have a reason to stick to it. And I already have the water I need for the week ;)

Alright you guys! This is one for the WHITE CORVETTES! I decided to do mine on constipation and gas! Constipation is a common side effect of dieting, but an easy way to ger rid of this is by adding more fiber to your diet. On average, people get 12-14 grams of fiber in their diet, when your are supposed to take in atleast 25 grams of fiber!!! So here is a piece of an article that I found that should help with constipation and gas! ------------------------------... Fiber Facts Adding fiber to your diet can help move food through your digestive system in a timely way. That’s because fiber soaks up water like a sponge, helping soften and add bulk to the waste in your intestines. This can help stools pass through your digestive system more quickly, more frequently—and more easily, which may help prevent Chronic Constipation. But just what is fiber? It’s the part of vegetables, fruits, and grains that your body cannot digest. There are 2 types: insoluble fiber (like wheat, oat bran, apples, and bananas) goes through the digestive system mostly unchanged, while soluble fiber (like dried beans, oranges, and carrots) dissolves, but maintains a soft texture. In fact, fiber typically is the first-line treatment for most patients with Chronic Constipation. The American Dietetic Association recommends 20 to 35 grams of fiber each day, while the average American gets only an average of 5 to 14 grams each day. But eating too much fiber can interfere with the absorption of minerals and vitamins. So if you increase the fiber in your diet, be sure to drink additional fluid to digest it. Talk to your doctor about adding fiber to your diet. Here are some ways to minimize discomfort from gas: Increase your fiber intake slowly over several months Prepare dried beans by soaking them overnight, and use fresh water to cook them Allow enough time to cook dried beans thoroughly so they can be more easily digested ------------------------------... Garden, Swim, Dance Your Way to Better Bowel Movements! When you move your body, your digestive system moves too, helping it to stay healthy. So choose a physical activity you enjoy and do it often—daily, if possible. In addition to aiding digestion, physical activity can help you trim down, reduce stress, and make you feel better about yourself. Whatever activities you do, try to do them often enough, long enough, and vigorously enough to make a difference. Little by little, try to build up to 30 minutes a day and more ------------------------------... So out of the foods that I found help bowel movements and gas I decided to find a recipe for fruit salad.. and here it is!!!!! Fabulous Fruit Salad II INGREDIENTS 2 cups diced apples 1 cup sliced banana 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup vanilla yogurt 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon DIRECTIONS In a bowl, mix the apples, banana, strawberries, and walnuts. Fold in the yogurt. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Gently stir just before serving ------------------------------... Even though this is not a very good snack for my diet, I still made it today because I had my mom and sister come over, and they are both on the Weight Watchers diet. I only tasted it a little bit (i think healthy cheating is better then unhealthy cheating right? haha) And my mom and sister loved it!!! Although... I left the walnuts out because I don't really like them... i just let my mom and sister add them to their own bowls! ------------------------------... I stretched yesterday after working on the treadmill. I was kinda tired so i concentrated on stretching more then working out my legs .. It felt great when i was done!

Sorry I didn't report yesterday! I don't know if it counts but i did do my stretches. I have been SOOO busy with school. These 7 classes are kicking my butt. And I had a dinner party tonight too! Anyways I did my stretches yesterday morning and I felt really relaxed afterwards.. I think i am gonna stretch real quick before I head to bed tonight too. I will check in again tomorrow! [b]GO WHITE CORVETTES[/b]!
