Losing weight but not inches. Is it normal?
MAYBE you've lost the 'inner' arterial fat - the dangerous stuff and it isn't showing on the measure? I remember losing a lot last time and the measurement was always the slowest - even losing loads. Weird. But true.

HI all, I am doing Atkins in UK and I wanted to know if I need to follow the Net carbs indicator or the carbs indicator? I know in US they deduct it but in UK they don't ? I am wondering which fat secret follows?

Ratios
Hi I am doing calories and am struggling to get my ratios right - I seem to have more fat than protein and it should be the other way round shouldn't it? I feel full after my day and don't really get any cravings. Should I remedy it or leave what is working?

Calories!
You are probably eating too little calories to be honest. Body thinks a famine is coming and starts to store fat! Best to get about 1400-1500, but that also depends how much you weigh.

yes thanks - I am going to be cycling alot to Uni now I 've started - going to replace the jogging. I have a bit if sciatica at the moment so thats not helping, but whatever I do I need to get back to it pronto!

Thanks guys. Problem is I do seem to go straight back to eating wrongly , can't seem to get the balance - and start putting pounds on immediatly! Atkins has been fabulous for me - making me lose it and keeping cravings and hunger at bay but I wonder whether I need a change to counteract this despondency.

I 've got 10 lbs to go.. I keep deviating and ruining my flow. I have lost my enthusiasm , my drive , I am reveling in the new me, I could be the weight I am now and be happy, but I know those last 10 lbs would really make a difference and I want it but I have no ' get up and go' left to get it? ' Maybe I am just having a bad day. Anyone else struggle with this?

What does a "break" look like for you?
I went to Spain for the summer and ended up 'taking a break' - I found it really hard to think about being so carb restrictive while away. In the end I gave up and my break was more about just eating whatever 'we' were having. The part that was the break for me was not constantly having to plan everything and log it and worry about whether it would go over my count. Once I decided to go on a 'break' I felt a weight off my mind because I felt I constantly had to be careful about everything and I couldn't honestly be bothered. Personally I think 'breaks' are just relaxing and not worrying about what is going in your mouth. Differnet from binges and needed occassionally while losing weight and planned weekends while maintaining. The key is to switch back to keeping an eye on yourself again. Just my HO.

Weight conversions
Why is it that when I convert my weight from stones to pounds I get different results? Surely it should be simple? I am going by the data that 12 stone 4 lbs = 172. Some sites come up at 168 ! I now have to gain 2-4 lbs to make my weight right again! And I 've already gained some on holiday!

The only thing that can stall progress is too many calories. If anything, caffeine will help you since more energy equals more movement equals more calories used.
