I am really confused with the Net Carbs Counting
I am really confused with counting Carbs. Going on the internet isn't helpful. I want to take in 130- 150 grams of carbs a day. How much net carbs do I then need to lose weight? I can't tell if my net carbs should be a higher number then the carbs or lower. Any experts out there that can help? The best thing about the future, it comes one day at a time. Abraham Lincoln

Need Help - Too much Fat in Blood
Thank you all. My dr told me that Fat in the blood is thick. It is when good and bad cholesterol is not balancing. Could lead to serious heart issues or stroke. I gained about 9 pounds in the stomach within 3 months due to steriods. The week we did the blood test i had surgery so it could be misleading but we are working as if it is true. I do a retest in 2 weeks. I love the help/advice that you all have given to me. Mike thanks for the list. It is so helpful because I hate seafood. I lost 30 pounds last year just reading peoples post's and what they are doing. It is helpful because I can't find a diet that is working. Starting over seems to be harder this time around. So far tho the low-carb is doing good and I am going to the gym everyday.

Need Help - Too much Fat in Blood
I need advice. I found out that I am 30 pounds over weight and that I have too much fat in my blood. Dr. thinks it maybe a mistake so I have to take a retest. however; he put me on South Beach Diet. No way could I do that. I bought the books and researched it. There is nothing to eat. I know I need to cut carbs but that is confusing. I am going to the gym almost daily too but that doesn't work alone. Has anyone had any success in a low carb diet? What tips can you give me?

Carb question
Thanks Mama Cracker that is simple and easy to follow. So far I lost 2 pounds last week. I love food, I am Italian so I know Carbs are my enemy, so with everyones feedback I have a great idea how to go about eating. I have two teenagers so I am better about not getting into their junkfood, now I just buy my healthy snacks. I also stopped the steriods last week so I am hoping for a good start now too.

Carb question
Thank you all for your posts. These have been very useful because I never could grasp the low carb diet. I have been on Steriods for a period of time and gained 8 pounds in my belly which is really bad because I am bigger now then I was with two pregnacies. So Dr. put me on Weight watchers. I am busting my butt working out but the diet thing is my downfall. So I guess I will give up Sherbert ice cream and go with sugar free. Thank you and all your tips. VERY HELPFUL

Carb question
How do you know when an item is too high in carbs? Example: I want ice cream and it says 1/2 cup 27carbs. Is that too high? Dr. said go easy on carbs but I never got the Carb thing down.

Help losing weight while on Steriods
I just found out that I will be on a high dose of steriods for a month and it worries me. I lost 30 pounds for years of being on and off of them. I don't want to go back into that hole. Until I feel better I can not work out so I need suggestions as to what I can do until I get better? Is there a low workout ideas or healthy snacks (I am a picky eater) but getting better. Looking for suggestions.

I like the green tea idea and will try that. Thank Chap5236 for that advice. That will help too. I have to go to the store tonight so I will keep that in my head. I see my specalist on the 10th of June so hopefully I can keep it under control till then. Going to look into water aerobics at the YMCA. I gotta try something.

I am suffering from Asthma and trying to lose weight...need suggestions
I joined the YMCA and they have a pool. Swimming sounds good but didn't think of the elliptical. Got on for 5 min and thought my legs will give out. Maybe I will give it a try. It is funny I can do an hour on the treadmill and fill fine. Then I go to bed and Bam and terrible coughing fit. I take advair, steriods and albruterol. It is insane. This flare up is really bad. Going to see a specialist in 2 weeks. I will look for Yoga too. See what kind of schedule they have. I haven't tried food supplements. I have had my asthma under control for the last couple of years. I had a woman in the office wear this horrible perfume and it triggered my asthma now it has been a 2 month night mare.

I am suffering from Asthma and trying to lose weight...need suggestions
I am on my 3rd round of steriods now within the last 2 months and so far I am managing to keep my weight constant. I need to know if there is anyone out there who is in the same boat and can suggest any exercises that I can do to lose weight while keeping my asthma under control. I am starting to get frustrated!
