Filling vegetarian snacks and food
Sweet potatoes-either roasted and sprinkled with rosemary and balsamic vinegar or oven fries. Cheesy creamed cauliflower-so good and is a great comfort food-I just steam it, mix it with some salt/pepper, a wedge of laughing cow light cheese and maybe some nutmeg or curry powder using my immersion blender Eggplant lasagna-I posted a recipe here a while ago. You can do a search for it. Veggie Meatballs-I found soy protein fills me up really fast (sometimes uncomfortably so) Veggie Chile (I use veggie crumbles and kidney beans) There are many great recipes on the site.

the dreaded Thanksgiving
I have 7 people coming too. I am making the traditional feast-potato, stuffing, pies. I plan to have one small helping of everything and eat it slowly, savoring every bite. I'll makes the pies and sides the night before and get up early to put the bird in and then go for a long/walk run before doing anything else. Thankfully, I have a ravenous 22 yr old that will make short work of the left overs.

What yogurt doesn't have fruit in it???
I love greek yogurt-either low fat or non fat. I use it to cook and to eat as a savoury treat mixed with finely chopped cucumber, red onion, cilantro and cumin. It's called Raita in India. The Greeks do a similar thing called tsatziki (I can never spell it!).

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
:) :) :) :) :) :!: wawaweewa! This has been the best challenge by far for me. I lost more weight in four weeks than I ever thought possible. I am still BEACHing and give myself a 5 for today. Thanks Imluuvd for making this incredibly interesting and fun! and Janelleas and the other team leaders for doing all the heavy lifting and making sure we stayed on point. Good luck to everyone as we continue moving towards our individual goals.

RED HOT BEACH BOD'S TEAM!
Amen sister. This has been the most satisfying challenge experience for me personally. Short but so very sweet. I think I lost 4 pounds, which is a record for me. However, what I will treasure most about the experience is the comraderie and support we gave each other. Our team was the best, we showed up every day for the challenge and for each other. Awesome!

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
TALLY Friday August 15 RED TEAM 4-I intended to get a 5, really I did. No excuses. DId 1/2 my usual 10K walk and also did my calisthenics but no swim today. Home early tomorrow so will have my 5 then. Stepson is home for the weekend (two weeks in a row-something must be wrong!) When he is here, I fill the house with food I cannot eat-oh the smell of bread and baked potato! I even bought milk today! I am indeed a stranger in a strange land....

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
Oh my gentle J!! You did fabulously! The woman's world record is 74 ft. and a bit. If you keep it up (an inch farther per day) you could break the record in about 2 months!:d

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
MINI CHALLENGE 8/11-8/16 I completed the Olympic Event!! -synchronized swimming with a grand finale-a "freestyle" water opera to the music of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. I swear I channeled Freddie Mercury. It was so much fun! I think I will continue to do it until it's too cold to swim. I had my chinese food earlier this week -moo shu veggies and actually ended up having shrimp dumplings tonight. Here is an interesting article on the top ten foods to try in Beijing. [url]http://www.chow.com/stori... Do you know that fortune cookies are not Chinese but a Japanese invention perfected in USA? I love the Today Show!

RED HOT BEACH BOD'S TEAM!
What was the distance? Oh and Janelleas? You deserve a 5 for your buffet vs. treadmill showdown. I demand that you edit your tally immediately... Oh and thanks so much for the hush hush message. As Bette Midler would say/sing "You are the wind beneath my wings" xoxo

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
TALLY Wednesday Aug 14 5-Got up early (I guess it helps that I am an insomniac so am usually awake when it's time to get up :x ). Took Otis out for a walk to my office, then went out for lunch walk and oh I forgot did the usual sit-ups and other weighty things first thing. Will walk home tonight by the beach and then do my third "performance" in the pool this evening. Last night I added music to the synchronized swim-the theme from JAWS. My husband was most amused and even added a special effect (spraying water over but mostly at me) . Somehow the JAWS improvisation morphed into a bit of Kabuki theatre....Anyhoo ended up being 45 minutes and I was sore afterwards (especially arms and legs) I too do not want this challenge to end. It has been a great pleasure to part of it and to get to meet knew peeps and to get to know other peeps better. Feeling very helen mirren today:)

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
TALLY WEDNESDAY AUGUST 13 RED TEAM 4-should have been a five but the poo hit the fan with work. Hate getting an email at 6.30AM and has not stopped since. Did walk at lunch and am now off home for my synchronized swim. I wonder if my neighbor will be in the stands...oh and I hit my foot last night on the edge of the pool trying to do a handstand. I think I sprained it. However, this Olympian does not give up! Had chinese food last night-made moo shu vegetable with plum sauce. Not bad really-never made it home before.

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
TALLY Tuesday Aug 12 5! I got up this am, did my 10K steps and my exercises and then did a 20 min synchronized swim after work. I can say that I am as graceless in the water as I am on land. My neighbor has a deck overlooking our pool and he has seen a lot from his perch but NEVER this!!!

LOL! I was thinking wrestling too. I am happy to say I am no longer qualified to be a SUMO but I think I'd be a great wrestler. I have a few tricks up my sleeve-the cobra clutch would have my opponent screaming uncle in no time.

wii fit?
I love my Wii fit. It's been a big help for me. And, if you have kids, they will love it too. Mine play it all the time and it's great way to keep THEIR activity up during the winter months.

Veggies, veggies and more veggies. The more I eat the more I lose! I've been making lots of soup with lots of veggies and ground turkey or cubed cooked chicken.
