Topic of the Day April 25 - The Monster Looks Like...
I'm right there with you redhead5839. When I'm bored or especially depressed, I eat. I have a history of depression and with all my other health issues that I've had, the doctors are a little surprised on how perky I am. But they don't see the eating battle I have. That is the ONE thing I can control. But trying to keep busy helps, gum is my constant savior. When I feel like munching and know I should, I stick a piece of spearmint or mint something in my mouth. I helps because who wants to eat when you have a clean feeling mouth? Plus mint kills the taste of stuff lol. Little things that you do, can make a huge difference. The trick is finding one that works for you.

Doctor's Office Scales & Home Scales
That is true, I weight myself first thing in the morning after my shower with no clothes, and my doc's appointment was in the afternoon. Thank you! I was not thinking that! Plus your right fredmugs, I've never agreed with the doc's scales. Thanks everyone!

Doctor's Office Scales & Home Scales
OKAY, I went to the doctor's the other day and of course they weighed me. According to their scales, I'm like 5lbs heavier than mine say. So I went home, weighed myself on both the scales I have and they came up with what I thought I was. Is this just to torture me or are my scales totally messed up?!? I mean the doc's scale would make it so I lost only 2lbs when I'm going on 8. And I know I've lost because my clothes are fitting different, people are noticing and 2lbs wouldn't make that big of a difference!!!

Activity & Exercise?
When entering my exercises/ activities for the day, I tried to be right on as much as possible. SO my question is...I work at a desk so I enter that I do desk work for 8 hours. But does that also count as sitting as well or is sitting when I'm at home? Little confused about this!

Birthday?!
Well if I figure out where we're going and/or doing, I could somewhat plan ahead for the occasion as well. Which I think will help. I could splurge a bit but as I said, try and make descent choices. And your definitely right gnat824, it has helped knowing that I have something to look forward to! Thanks for the opinions and thanks Lindsay6384 for the advanced birthday wishes!

Birthday?!
Okay, my birthday is in a few weeks and my husband wants to go out for dinner, dessert, some drinks. If I am careful all day before and after this event. Do you think it would be awful if I let my guard down for one meal? I don't want to have the event ruined because I have to watch calories. I mean I can make smart choices, but not be as cautious about it. Good idea? Bad? Help.

Proteins?
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! Trying to eat more protein is actually harder than it seems, but once I get in a routine and try everything you've suggested, I think it'll be better!
